Static vs dynamic QR codes
The two types of QR code look identical but behave very differently. The choice comes down to one question: might you ever want to change where the code points after it is printed?
Static QR codes
A static code encodes your destination directly. It is free, permanent and cannot be tampered with server-side — but it also cannot be edited or tracked. Once it is printed, it is fixed.

Is a dynamic QR code worth it?
If the destination might ever change, or you want scan tracking, yes — a one-off $3.99 dynamic code is much cheaper than reprinting everything. If the link is fixed forever, a free static code is fine.
Can I convert a static QR code to a dynamic one?
Not the printed code itself — a static pattern is fixed. But you can generate a new dynamic code with the same styling and use it going forward.
Do static and dynamic QR codes look different?
To a scanner they are just QR codes. A dynamic code's pattern encodes a short link rather than your full URL, but visually you cannot tell them apart.
